BACKGROUND
The
Chitterybite Ceilidh Band have an established track record operating
as a ceilidh collective providing top quality traditional musicians
for corporate and private ceilidh dance events. We place great importance
on the role of our callers and every Chitterybite Lineup features
this important individual who helps instruct with the dances and
entertains the dancers with some good crack!.
We
can also call on a variety of top quality musicians playing fiddle,
accordion, piano, guitar, mandolins, bouzouki and whistle and there
are often vocalists who provide a few songs in between the dances.
The band are currently performing weekly at Ceilidh in the City!
in the grand ballroom upstairs at Sloans
Bar & Restaurant, Glasgow.
CLIENTS
Clients
include BBC Children in Need, Athens St Andrews Society, The Glenmorangie
Company, The British Interplanetary Society, Scottish Enterprise,
Glasgow University Union, and Depra the Food Standards Agency.
VENUES
Chitterybite
have played in a range of venues including Glasgow Marriett Hotel,
Glasgow Science Centre, Glasgow University, the Old Fruitmarket,
Edinburgh Castle, the Athens Intercontinental Hotel, One Devonshire
Gardens, Turnberry Hotel, Seamill Hydro, Crieff Hydro, the George
Hotel Edinburgh, Oran Mor, and Arta.

Dances include The Dashing White Sargeant, The Gay Gordons, Orkney
Strip the Willow, Various waltzes, The Virginia Reel, Eightsome
Reel, Canadian Barndance, a set of Scottische's and The Flying Scotsman.
The band also perform various slow airs and assorted jigs and reels
in between dances if required..
The
band perform various songs throughout our set in order to break
things up a bit and to give people a wee breather from the dancing!
